Hi Harriers
In the absence of the usual Kent Grand Prix in 2021, Road Captain Mike came up with a novel assortment of 10 events to decide the 2021 trophy winner.
The events were as follows:-
- Langton road virtual 5k
- Club XC champs
- Club Road champs
- Club 10K handicap (best 2 of 3 events)
- A UKA certified road half marathon event to be completed in 2021
- A UKA certified road 10k event to be completed in 2021
- 16 Oct 2021 — Swanley Park 8k XC
- Nov 2021 — 5 Mile South of Thames XC
- 18 Dec 2021 — 7.5 Mile South of Thames XC
With help from Mike King, Bob Lawrence and Simon Holford, I was able to put together all the required results and come up with reasonable approximations of age gradings.
To be considered for the trophy you had to have completed at least 5 events.
So, these finalists are as follows:-

So, a very big congratulations to Dillon Hobbs for winning the trophy for the first time and to Jillian Holford and Keith Mitchell for coming 2nd and 3rd respectively for the second year in a row.
A special mention goes to Mike Russell for completing all 10 events and a very special mention to Simon & Carol and Mike & Sam who proved that running and love can go together.
The club road Grand Prix Trophy is designed to encourage Harriers to race more often, and on equal terms with all other members as the results are adjusted for age and gender. Each race of the 10 Kent Grand Prix series counts towards our club road grand prix with a percentage result based on finishing time, age and gender. This percentage is calculated according to the 2015 WAVA scale. The winner is the runner with the best score at the end of the season, that is the average of their best five percentages over the series.
Age graded Percentage guidelines:-
100% Approximate world record level
Above 90% World Class Level
Above 80% National Class Level
Above 70% Regional Class Level
Above 60% Local Class Level
