TW Half Marathon – Leaflet Drop CHALLENGE!

Half Marathon
Dear Harriers,

Our Half Marathon is now just under five weeks away and this year we would like to organise a ‘Leaflet Drop’ for streets in and around Tunbridge Wells, Southborough and the various villages around the course, seeking your help and participation in the ‘Drop’.  The A5 leaflet is designed firstly to advertise the race for possible entries and secondly to highlight the road closures around the route, so you’d be doing some very useful work, volunteering to do this on behalf of the Club.  N.B.  Ed Steele has asked me to point out that this is NOT an excuse to not help out with the main volunteering work we all need to do to make the event a success!!!

Three prizes of a Running Hub vouchers (£30, £20 and £10)  are on offer to the Harriers who complete the longest ‘Leaflet Drop’, as recorded on Strava,….with  a minimum of 30 leaflets delivered within the general environs of the race route.   If you are cunning, you could nominate two random streets at either end of the course!  You will need to post evidence of your ‘Leaflet Drop Run’ to David Castle at The Running Hub, (who is the judge and jury, sole arbiter etc in the event of any dispute! by Tuesday 23rd January to be eligible. david@runninghub.co.uk.   Winners to be revealed by the 31st January!

The leaflets (we have ordered 3000!) will be available for collection at next  Wednesday’s Club Night run  (17th January) or from the Running Hub (from Thursday 18th January) To avoid homes getting multiple leaflets, a map will be available on Club Night and at the Running Hub and runners will be asked to nominate streets they will leaflet (taking as many leaflets as they consider will be needed as we do recognise this something of a guessing game!).  If you are willing to leaflet just your own road and don’t want to join the distance challenge as such, we’d still very much welcome your involvement.

Good Luck!
