A small team of 7 Harriers took part in the Staplehurst 10K on Sunday 14th June. The event is described as a flattish course with good PB potential.
The event was well run and took in some scenic countryside under pretty good weather conditions. The course was pretty flat with a minor hill (which felt like quite an effort) around 7K.
PBs were achieved by Kim Deeney, Colin Ricketts, Jillian Holford & Michael Youlton. However the main race of the day took place between Michael Kennard and Ana-Maria Green. After an intense race long battle Ana managed to time her sprint and dip to the line to perfection and finish with an identical time to Michael.
There were 376 finishers with Dan Watts being first male in 34:05 and Maria Heslop first lady in 37:13.
