Weekly (and catch up) results

News

Yesterday proved to be a fine day as well as the results went.

34 Harriers travelled to Canterbury and although the weather forecast had predicted mist and fog the race was run in almost perfect conditions (albeit a little chilly). Over the past few years the race had been run in wind/driving and freezing rain, so today, our spectating force, Smaranda Dranga, Phil Connor and me could actually smile as we walked to the customary watching spot at approximately the nine-mile point. We did not have to wait too long before we could see the leader approaching with a clear lead. The next small group included Liam White who, extraordinarily, was running his first ten-mile race for the Club. That could be said of ten further Harriers today.

Harriers passed us at regular intervals with 8 Personal Bests recorded of various magnitude from a few seconds to Emily Nash taking 12 minutes from her previous best. However, Ali Farrall must take pride of place finishing 3rd F45 and setting a new TWH F50 10 Mile record of 1:09:15 in the process

In the team events we were awarded 3rd Place in the Men’s Event and 2nd Place in the ladies’ event. A great start for the 2023 Kent Grand Prix.

Meanwhile, Alex Jeffreys and Chris Walmsley took part in the Farnborough Winter Half Marathon with Alex finishing 23rd of 1698 finishers in a new personal best time of 1:13:39 and Chris finishing with a time of 1:41:47.

I have attached the results from these and two earlier races from last week (Rose Sawyer & Tara Taylor)

Keep them all keep coming in.

Thanks
