Greetings Harriers,
The trains might not be running but the runners are still training.
Don’t let industrial action keep you away from the hood this Wednesday.
We have Alex Jeffreys as this week’s Routemaster , so fasten your seat belts and here we go ……
This week we have a route out Rusthall way that Alex put together for us back in December 2018.
(His recent 6:20 min mile marathon pace not compulsory)
Standard route 7.2 miles
Short route 5.6 miles
The moon is full and the route is mostly lit but sections along Langton Road, Dorndon Drive and Hurstwood Lane are not well lit so you will benefit from wearing a head torch. Try and stay in groups as much as possible, looking out especially for guests and newer members.
All on road, so best to wear hi vis or something bright and feel free to get your new pair of Nike Air Zoom Alphafly NEXT% 2 out of the box and on the tarmac (Southeastern uniforms optional).
Current forecast for Wednesday is for a cool but dry 11C.
I’m away in Northumberland with a select band of Reckers (people who recce ?) this week, so won’t be able to join you on Wednesday. If you are not able to catch up with Alex Reid to discuss the wonders of the North East, here is a picture of the northern lights taken in South Shields earlier this week. You don’t get that in Rusthall !
Hockey Chris has already made his Autumn comeback behind the bar and will be looking to consolidate on his early season form, selling the finest beer (Harveys), wine and soft drinks in the immediate vicinity, at special prices.
7:30 prompt start from the Nevill – change rooms, showers and bar all open – it’s time to commit !
Map – 12th October 2022
