Eridge 10 (Sun 22 September) – help needed

Eridge 10 Trail Challenge – Sunday 22nd September 2024
It’s now exactly 9 weeks to our Eridge 10 event and we need your help. This is the second of the open events that the club organises (the other being the Half Marathon in February).
On the day we will need a lot of help, including at least 44 course marshals, volunteers to man the 4 water stations around the course, help with car parking, setting up and closing down the event HQ, number and t-shirt collection and supervising the cakes.
We also need help before the day, particularly with course clearing. We have allocated 3 weekends for doing this: Sat 17th, Sat 24th and Sat 31st August (you will be able to run parkrun first!). Chairman George will be co-ordinating the course clearing activities.
One of the highlights of Eridge, apart from the fantastic course, is the beer and cake afterwards. For this we will need club members to put their baking skills to the test. Cordy Kent will be coordinating the cake baking efforts and will be contacting you soon.
Unhelpfully this year, the Larkfield 10k Kent Grand Prix race clashes with Eridge and will obviously impact our entry numbers as well as take away some of our volunteers on the day.
In order to gauge availability, please can you complete the short Google volunteering form below, indicating where you are able to help. If you have any specific requests, e.g. marshalling in a particular location, please put them in the comments section at the bottom.
As of this morning, we have 236 runners signed up and anticipate this number increasing in the coming weeks.
We hope everyone will get behind the event and help us to make it a great success.
Thanks in advance
Simon
