Subject: [TWH – Group] Paddock Wood Marathon Relays – Sunday 6th October

Please see below details of an event being organised by Paddock Wood Runners in early October – team relays to a marathon distance. It would be good if we could get a couple of teams together for this one. Anyone interested please drop me a line by the end of this month and I will coordinate the teams. Entry fees will be split evenly between participants depending on numbers.

Message Body:

After the success of the event last year, we are doubling the maximum number of teams for 2024 from five to ten. Teams must have between four and eight runners with at least one lady per team. For 2024 all runner will receive medals, and there will be trophies for the fastest team, and the fastest men’s and women’s mile. Team costs, to cover the cost of medals and trophies is £25/team.

Arrival at 8:30am for a 9am start. The first runner starts the first leg at the 200m line, and the first runner will complete 5.5 laps before handing over to the second runner at the exchange point, which is  just before the normal start line. All other legs will be four laps. In total there are 26 legs, so a team of four would see most runners do six legs, with one doing seven, a team of eight would see most runners only do three legs, with one doing four.  Runners do not have to complete legs in any strict order. Each team will be responsible for recoding leg times for their runners. Non-running supporter are welcome to come along.  Parking is at Putlands Leisure Centre across the field from the track, TN12 6NZ.

Any questions please let me know.

Many Thanks
