sought-after distractions from everyday concerns …
and no, it’s not the Bavarian Curling event in Calverley Grounds

Yes we’ve been ‘hard at it’ again (not for the faint-hearted) to find yet another secret venue for this 29th edition of the Harriers beloved Run-Out Lunch with its illustrious heritage shown above.
For those of you unfamiliar with the appeal of our longstanding winter jolly, here’s a brief insight.
Up to fifty Harriers/assorted loved ones of drinking age are invited to participate in a hearty seasonal lunch at an undisclosed hostelry slightly without our normal territory, This reward is earned by most who undertake a largely cross-country jaunt aided by specially created maps towards the reveal.
The 2022 event features as usual two distances, measured by the country mile method, of 7.5 or 10-12 of the imperial statute. A very agreeable progress is decided between the various ability groups – a ‘fast walk’ often preferred by some.
Your selection of attire for dining will be transported to the venue where it is anticipated you will enjoy a leisurely recovery aided by your favourite elixir and a two or three course luncheon. Menus will be issued in advance for your choices to be forwarded to our caterers.
Your start locations will be issued nearer the time to enable you to arrange transport and for those who will be joining us at the finish (either to dine or as recovery vehicles) a top-secret envelope will be available.
To secure your seat at this annual favourite there will be a sign up sheet at the club for the next four Wednesdays or you can reply now to avoid disappointment.
