Dear Harriers
Ahead of the final handicap race of 2024 and the competition for the Speldhurst Trophy (won in 2005 incidentally by our much-missed friend JR) I have compiled the best male/female actual time run each year since 2006*
This year Liam has twice set a new all-time best amongst the Harrier men with 32:25 in June, then his 31:41 last month, while Tara is still holding this year’s female best time of 45:09 from the June race (note: Harriet W has run a quicker time but as a non-member guest at the time). Alice Heather-Hayes holds the women’s record from 2015.
*Bob’s club statistics indicate that the handicap has been run on the current course since 2006 but if anyone thinks differently, please let me know.
